It is already certain that Wenger will not risk ANY Arsenal first team players with Man City coming up at the weekend. But who will play?
I dont think Wenger will make many changes to the side that played in Belgrade but David Ospina is expected to return from injury and I am also hoping that Chambers is fit enough to play a part as well, as the partnership with Holding is set to be our defence of the future. Wenger definitely needs more options in central defence and it would free Elneny to return to his preferred midfield position.
I don’t think Wenger will start with Nketiah despite last weeks heroics, and Joe Willock could be relegated to the bench to give Elneny a starting spot in the middle.
So here is my team….
Ospina
Debuchy, Chambers, Holding
Nelson, Coquelin, Elneny, Maitland-Niles
Walcott, Wilshere, Giroud
I am pretty certain that Wenger will persevere with Walcott, Wilshere and Giroud in attack as they need to be kept happy and fit in case of injuries to the first XI. Likewise with Coquelin and Elneny, while Nelson and Maitland-Niles get another chance to impress the Boss.
