Predicted Arsenal line up against Crystal Palace – Emery on the attack?

There are definitely going to be a few changes to the team that faced Napoli on Thursday night when we go up against Crystal Palace on Sunday afternoon.

For starters, there will be no Aaron Ramsey or Sokratis due to injury and suspension.

In goal we will see the return of Bernd Leno despite the good performance of Petr Cech in Italy, it is horses for courses with Unai Emery and Leno is the man between the sticks in the Premier League.

I expect the back three to consist of Laurent Koscielny, Nacho Monreal and Shkodran Mustafi though I would not be surprised if Emery goes with Konstantinos Mavropanos instead of Mustafi, but on balance it is likely he will stick with the more seasoned, if unreliable, German.

The wing-backs basically take care of themselves, I simply cannot see the boss not going with Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Sead Kolasinac on the flanks, especially with Palace likely to be fielding speedy players themselves.

As per usual the midfield is the most tricky area to predict but the injury to Ramsey and possible fitness worries over Granit Xhaka means that we will probably see Matteo Guendouzi and Lucas Torreira as the central pairing with Mesut Ozil deployed just in front of them.

That leaves Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang playing slightly on the wing behind Alexandre Lacazette up front, a combination that I believe will work consistently well if given the opportunity, and in this particular game, I do feel Emery will go with the two-man attack as opposed to the lone striker strategy.

Leno
Koscielny
Monreal
Mustafi
Maitland-Niles
Kolasinac
Guendouzi
Torreira
Ozil
Aubameyang
Lacazette

That is my predicted eleven, although the chances are that Emery will pick a team that will surprise us all. He has so much to balance out now and fixture congestion and player freshness is certainly among those factors to consider.
