Prolific England youth in line to switch Manchester for Arsenal

Tyrese Campbell is a target for Arsenal and West Ham this summer, as he looks to secure his future away from Manchester City.

The England Under-17 international has alerted our club to his intentions to leave, having turned down the offer of a scholarship deal at the Etihad, due to his fear of progression through the ranks currently.

The Gunners are known for the opposite however, having blood many youngsters through their ranks in recent years, including Alex Iwobi, Hector Bellerin, Cesc Fabregas and Jack Wilshere.

Campbell could now be set to be offered the chance to join our youth side this summer, with a view to transforming his impressive performances for club and country at youth level into our side.

Tyrese has scored a huge 97 goals in the past two seasons with City, and his exit will prove to be a huge loss for the Etihad side.

The youngster is allowed to talk to prospective clubs about a free transfer in the close-season, with the 16 year-old’s youth deal set to expire at the end of the current month.

The City youngster’s father previously played for Arsenal also, having come through their youth ranks in the late 80s, before going onto make 166 league appearances for the side, scoring 46 goals.

Tyrese could well see the opportunity to follow in his dad’s footsteps in trying to emerge through the Arsenal ranks as an attractive prospect, and he would be a welcome addition to our ever-impressive youth side.

His father holds the unfortunate record of having scored the most Premier League goals without earning a senior England cap.

Could West Ham beat us to his signature? Surely we hold all the cards in this youngster’s chase…
