This could be seen as yet more proof, along with the Arsenal injury list and the feeling that the Gunners have had a raw deal from the Premier League referees this season, that the football gods do not want us to win the EPL title for some reason, or they just enjoy tormenting Arsene Wenger and the global Gooner family.
On the other hand it could just be seen as one of those things and that in reality the reason why Arsenal are currently sitting 11 points off the surprise leaders Leicester City is because we have not been good enough or have shot ourselves in the foot too often, while some will point to the lack of transfer action from the boss as a glaring flaw in his master plan.
Anyway, there is a report in The Sun about how the table would look if the shots at goal that had hit the woodwork had counted as goals, or if they had just been a few inches the other way. And what this shows is that the Gunners have suffered from hitting the woodwork much more than our rivals.
In fact we would be sitting on top of the table with Leicester level on points but below us on goal difference. The Foxes would have won four fewer games and lost two more than they have, while Tottenham would amazingly be down in sixth. In a game of fine margins these little things can make a big difference and it looks like most of the differences have gone against us. So is bad luck to blame for Arsenal not winning the Premier League this season?
