PSG to overlook Alexis in favour of Arsenal team-mate?

Paris Saint-Germain are claimed to be considering a move to sign Lucas Perez, instead of the previously linked Alexis Sanchez.

The Chilean forward has been a high talking point in the press this season, with the player’s contract entering it’s final year next month, and Paris have been among a number of clubs linked with his signature.

Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea are also believed to be strong in the race to sign the Gunners superstar, and they may now look elsewhere to bolster their squad.

Edinson Cavani is also not keen on having to battle a superstar for his central role, and having enjoyed his first season out of the shadow of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, he isn’t happy about the thought of now having to fight Alexis for a first-team role, or to be pushed out wide once more.

Lucas Perez is now being eyed as a potential back-up to the Uruguayan goalscorer, as well as being somewhat especially strong out wide also. PSG manager Unai Emery was supposedly keen on Perez from his time as Seville boss previously, and is keen on a reunion in France.

The Spanish forward has failed to break into Arsene Wenger’s first-team plans this term, despite impressing on a number of outings, and Perez is believed to be frustrated with the constant snubs.

He may now be offered the chance to try his hand in French football, although the thought of having to battle with Edinson Cavani, Julian Draxler, Angel Di Maria and Hatem Ben Arfa for an attacking role may not prove tempting.

Should Arsenal sell Lucas this summer? Has he shown more than enough to warrant more game time at the Emirates?
