Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsey was on the scoresheet as Wales destroyed the Republic of Ireland in Ryan Giggs first game in charge of the Welsh Dragons. Tom Lawrence, Gareth Bale and Connor Roberts also scored excellent goals as Giggsy’s attacking style gave the crowd a treat in Cardiff last night.
The result was an amazing turnaround from last year when the Republic knocked Wales out of the World Cup by beating them 1-0 at the same venue in October. You can watch the brilliant highlights below (sorry I could only find them with Russian commentary!
Meanwhile Arsenal’s only other player in action was Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who missed a penalty but Armenia still managed to come away 2-1 winners over Lichtenstein. Mkhi said after the game: “We lost focus after the [first] goal and [they scored]. It was hard, but we were trying to find the key to [their] goals. Today wasn’t my day, I missed many opportunities. But this is football, we won and gained three points. What matters is that we achieved positive result. Each match is difficult for us, there are no easy matches,”
Mkhi may want to forget that game, but you simply must watch the excellent Welsh goals!
