Second Arsenal bid for top target rejected despite improved terms

Arsenal are continuing their interest in signing Celtic defender Kieran Tierney with the latest reports claiming they have already submitted a second offer.

The first offer for £15 Million was soundly rejected by the Hoops who told Arsenal they would have to offer a lot more money for them to consider selling.

Not sure anyone at the Emirates was actually listening.

Arsenal have now reportedly offered £17.5 Million plus £7.5 million in add ons which would have taken the total to £25 Million, Celtics asking price.

But the Glasgow giants were not impressed, they want the full £25 Million paid up front, no ifs or buts.

It was a fair offer by Arsenal but they should know now that Celtic are not playing games, they are not interested in deferred payments or add ons or anything like that, they value the left-back at £25 Million and that is what they want.

The problem for Arsenal is that Celtic are using the £50m Manchester United paid Crystal Palace for Aaron Wan-Bissaka as a baseline and you can fully understand that.

For his part, Tierney is said to be open to a move to North London but it will not be the end of the world if he stays with the club he has supported all his life.

The ball is now firmly in Arsenal’s court, they either make a third bid for the full valuation or they look elsewhere.
