Should Arsenal copy Germany and pick Draxler over Gotze?

The number of Arsenal transfer rumours linking us with a possible summer swoop for the Bayern Munich and Germany international midfield er Mario Gotze has been growing in recent weeks, with reports from Germany suggesting that he is being eased out of the door by the German champions.

So this Euro 2016 tournament offered the attacking player a great chance to enhance his reputation after a season of injury problems and poor form for his club. That has not really happened, though, especially when the Germany coach Joachim Low has opted to use him as a false 9 instead of an accepted striker.

And his tournament took a worse turn today as he was left out of the starting line up for the knockout game against Slovakia, only to see Germany put on their best attacking display so far, with the former Arsenal transfer target Julian Draxler taking most of the plaudits thanks to an assists, a goal and his all round game.

So if the rumours are true about Arsene Wenger thinking about Gotze, should he look more closely at Germany and decide that Draxler is the better option? Metro is reporting that Jose Mourinho thinks he could get Draxler for about £30 million if Man United fail to get Mkhitaryan and if he can do it why can’t we?
