Should Arsenal cough up £64M for Chelsea target Morata?

Chelsea are claimed to have had a bid for Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata turned down, with the club looking to hold out for the full £64 Million asking price.

The Blues are believed to be leading the race to sign the striker now, but Arsenal are desperate to add a top goalscorer to the team, in hope of keeping tabs with their rivals this term, and have also been strongly linked.

Having already missed out on Jamie Vardy, who opted to stay with Leicester beyond the current window, and Michy Bathuayi, who agreed to join Chelsea this summer, and a number of other targets look unlikely to join now.

Alexandre Lacazette looks increasingly likely to be staying with Lyon, Carlos Bacca is believed to be close to joining West Ham United, and Vincent Jansson, who I had hopes of signing this summer, is expected to complete a move to Tottenham in the near future.

We have managed to agree a deal to sign Takumo Asano from the Japanese A League, but he is not expected to fit straight into the first-team, and is certainly not the top striker we had been expecting to arrive this summer.

Morata is still believed to be on the market, and with a number of other options looking extremely slim, it is about time Arsene Wenger and the Arsenal mob dug deep into the coffers and paid the money needed to bring a top striker in, before they are all accounted for.

Chelsea may have started proceedings in their bid to sign him, but we can offer Champions League football, and who would not want to play with Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez?

Should we just buck up the £64 Million for Morata? Or is there a better option for the same price or less?
