Manchester United are claimed to be keen on offloading Luke Shaw this January, with Arsenal said to be keen on his signature.
The Red Devils are believed to be hoping of return £20 Million for their failed to signing, with Fenerbahce, Chelsea and Arsenal all showing interest in his signature.
The left back left Southampton to join United back in the summer of 2014, originally agreeing to join with David Moyes in charge, before arriving with new manager Louis Van Gaal at the helm.
Shaw arrived with huge expectations having broken into the England team at the age of 18, and had already strongly impressed in his 60 Premier League appearances for Southampton. His fee will also have added to that expectation with United believed to have paid upwards of £27 Million for his signature.
In his opening months with the club, he was nominated for the Golden Boy Award in 2014, further backing up the strong potential and ability retained by the then 18 year-old, but injuries have blighted him in recent years.
The 22 year-old has since fallen out of favour at Old Trafford, with the youngster having struggled to break into Jose Mourinho’s plans following a long-term injury, a double leg fracture.
Fenerbahce are believed to hold the strongest interest in signing the left-back, although the defender is thought to prefer to stay in England, and Southampton, Chelsea and Arsenal are amongst those said to be keeping tabs on proceedings.
Arsenal sold Kieran Gibbs and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in the summer, two of their options for the left wing-back role, and Sead Kolasinac arrived in their place. The Bosnian has been one of the our better players this season, and there is no question mark over his ability, but we most certainly need more options at present.
Nacho Monreal has adopted a more central role in the side, taking up a role as one of three centre-backs in our formation, but would Luke Shaw agree on a move knowing he would be a back-up? Does Shaw still retain the potential to be among the best left-backs in the world?
