Should Arsenal let Liverpool treat Anfield as away game?

Arsenal head to Anfield in fine fettle and with a lot of confidence. We have just got through to the next round of the FA cup with a comfortable victory over Premier League opponents in Sunderland. We also pulled off a miraculous rescue mission to stay in the Champions League although I do not want to think about our next two European games against the might of Barcelona right now.

Most important, though, for the Arsenal, fans, players and manager is how the Premier League campaign is going and you cannot do much more than be on top of the table. Well we could have had more of a lead but in general we have done very well so far and so will head into the game against Liverpool believing we can win.

The fact that their defence is weakened by the injury problems to the likes of Skrtel and Lovren should help as well and Jurgen Klopp is certainly expecting us to try to exploit their problems, as an Evening Standard report explains.

The German said, “Arsenal – together with City – are the two best teams at this moment in the Premier League and to stay in a good position against Man City they need all the points.

“They will show us they are ambitious. They are in a good moment, we have not had consistency in the performance but Stoke was a good sign of what my team is capable of.”

So it seems that Klopp is expecting Arsenal to be the aggressors and his tactics to cope with that will surely be to try to hit us on the break. Should Wenger be concerned about this and try to be a bit more cautious than he might have been? Or do we just get at them and believe that our sharp attack will be too much for their creaking back line?
