Should Arsenal play David Ospina against Tottenham even if Cech is fit?

There have been conflicting reports about Petr Cech’s fitness since he was replaced by David Ospina in last week’s game at Everton, with many papers reporting that the Arsenal shotstopper hadn’t recovered from the kick he got during the game.

Tottenham fans have been moaning on social media that Cech missing the game will actually give the SGunners an advantage, and there are many Arsenal fans that would probably agree with them!

But now there are more reports saying that he is likely to be available, and considering that Wenger said after the Everton game that Cech wasn’t too bad. “He has a kick on his calf. I don’t know medically how bad it is. Just a kick.” So he obviously didn’t think that would be a problem, so I don’t know where the original scare stories came from.

But the fact is that Cech has not been at his best lately, and the schoolboy error he committed against Swansea should not be ignored. Personally I think he should be benched and Ospina given his chance to try and help us get a clean sheet. Cech has now been waiting for his 200th EPL clean sheet for the last 8 games and shows no signs of ever getting that record.

And just maybe, with Ospina in goal, we may also have a chance of actually saving a penalty!
