Time to deflate all these Jose Mourinho to Arsenal rumours

Jose Mourinho to Arsenal is nothing more than fake news

For some reason, the internet has gone into meltdown over the possibility of Jose Mourinho taking over from Unai Emery.

I say for some reason but it is fairly easy to work out how the speculation went into overdrive yesterday.

From what I can see it started with a tweet from a fake Sky Italy account under the name Antonio Russo. This “person” claimed that Emery would be sacked within days.

Well, it turns out that no such person called Antonio Russo works at Sky Italia and even if there was why would that person actually be living in London as the Twitter account claims. Also, the picture is of former Sky Sports presenter Andy Steggall. You literally could not make this up. Actually, they just did.

The first outlet that exposed this from what I can see was Red London.

Then there are the rumours that Mourinho dined with Raul Sanllehi last night as so lavishly reported by the Mirror citing The Times.

Now, according to Sky Sports, no such meeting has ever taken place and they have not spoken in years.

In better words, the Mirror, the Times and all the others are telling outright lies.

So, there is no real source claiming Emery is set to be sacked, there was no meeting between Mourinho and Sanllehi but such is the toxic atmosphere around Emery that it seems anything that points to him leaving Arsenal is jumped on with immediate effect.
