There was a lot of speculation about whether the Swedish striker would thrive in the English Premier League this season, with his age and supposed lack of mobility as well as the need to adapt to a different style of football all brought up as possible obstacles, but I think most Arsenal fans will have to agree that the 35-year old has answered his critics emphatically.
The dramatic late goal against Southampton won Manchester United the EFL cup final and made it 26 goals already in all competitions in his debut season with United, so Arsenal fans can only wonder what might have been. The fact that United have not really been blowing teams away and that Arsenal seem to lack a bit of killer instinct and desire to win suggests that Zlatan would be a great addition.
So I was very interested to read a report by The Mirror which claims that the Swede may move on at the end of the current season if United do not earn a place in next season’s Champions League.
Imagine that Arsenal do secure another top four spot while United miss out, which is quite possible and even likely. Would you then want to see Arsenal try to sign Ibrahimovic?
