Unai Emery believes he still has the confidence of the Arsenal dressing room

Unai Emery denies he has lost the Arsenal dressing room.

Arsenal’s performance when they take to the field has been very poor recently. The Gunners are just as close to the relegation zone as they are to the top-four following a string of poor results.

There have been reports in recent days that Unai Emery is struggling to motivate his players and get the best out of them.

The former Sevilla boss has reportedly lost the trust of his players and most of them are already looking forward to playing for a new manager.

Despite their poor showing when they represent the Gunners and his apparent poor communication from the bench during games, Emery has come out to defend his relationship with his players, and he insists that they are all on the same page.

The Spaniard was asked if he thought the players still have some belief in him, Emery responded, courtesy of Arsenal.com

: “Yes of course. They show that.

“As a coach each moment in my career is difficult. This is a very good but very hard job. When you are winning you feel the support for everybody. I believe in us, I believe in the players. I know I am going to work very hard to come back to the performance.

“I am looking forward to playing tomorrow. The good moment, the bad moment the most important for me is to show my work. Our confidence depends a lot on how we can feel in our stadium with our supporters.

“Teams are coming here playing fearless. We need to be strong and together. We need to show our supporters our capacity and skills.”

The problem for Emery is that we all have eyes and my eyes, when looking at the player’s body language, tells me they no longer enjoy playing under him.

Of course, the players should be professional and play to their very best when in an Arsenal shirt but that is a different debate for another day. However, it is the manager’s job to get those players to be fighting to their last breath for the club and he has clearly failed to do that.
