Video: Arsenal make former Man United skipper shame himself

Arsenal snatched a late equaliser against Manchester United yesterday afternoon, giving our rivals the lead for long enough for Rio Ferdinand to make himself look stupid.

The Red Devils took the lead through a 68th minute Juan Mata goal, and the former England and Manchester United star took to Twitter to boast the lead, only to be disgusted at the equaliser which followed.

Olivier Giroud nodded home from a delightful Oxlade-Chamberlain cross, after the pair were both brought onto the field late into the game, ultimately resulting in the match ending in a draw.

The equaliser came late enough for the home side to have led for enough time for Rio to make a fool of himself. You would think a former professional footballer would recall that a match isn’t over until the referee blows his whistle after 90 minutes plus injury time wouldn’t you?

This post evidently backfired and he should feel like he put a jinx on his own side, and he may think twice before posting such a premature celebration.

Arsenal fans will not have been overjoyed with the result having come into the match with the much better form, but considering the performance, we will most definitely feel the happier of the two sides with the draw.

Will Rio learn from his nonsense today? Really wish we could have been able to rub a win in his face instead of just the draw…
