Vorskla v Arsenal Review – Arsenal cruise to win the Group with ease

I must admit I was a little bit worried about Arsenal playing in minus 12 degrees centigrade in Kiev, but my fears were put to rest after just after just ten minutes when Emile Smith-Rowe scored the Gunners first one tonight and his second goal in the Europa League after just ten minutes, and it looked like our Young Guns were going to be in for an easy night..

Aaron Ramsey doubled our lead before the half hour mark from the spot after he was brought down himself after a clumsy challenge in the box, and the Welshman calmly slotted past the Vorskla keeper. Arsenal were now clearly going to top the Group with one game to spare.

Our third was my favourite in the half when Joe Willock looked like Thierry Henry, taking the ball cleanly outside the box and played a very cool pass into the bottom corner. The lads were positively beaming go in at the break despite the freezing temperatures, and it looks like were going to go into cricket score territory in the following 45 minutes.

But to be honest the Gunners didn’t look very keen to improve the score as I guess the job’s been done – and why risk injury. We can’t get any more than three points. The first 15 minutes limped away with the fans jumping up and down to keep warm.

Just 5 minutes later somehow a cross eluded all the Vorskla defenders and keeper and fell into the path of Smith Rowe who calmly put the bal into the top of the net, but looked extremely confused afterwards! He was even more confused when the ref declared it was offside a couple of minutes later! To be honest so was I! But 3-0 it remained…

There was not much to write home about after that except Petr Cech actually had to make a save, and it was quite a good one! You have to give full marks for a job well done. I would have liked to see Nketiah score but we can’t have everything!
