Welbeck gives Arsenal BIG injury boost! May face Liverpool

Although it looked like Arsenal had been hit by the old enemy of the injury curse during this current international break, we are now hearing that we might have gotten away with it after all. Our England international striker has been sent back to the club after picking up a knock to his knee during the Euro qualifier over Lithuania last Friday and it seemed as though he would be missing a bit of domestic action for the Gunners as well.

But now a Daily Mail report has revealed that the medical staff behind the scenes at the Emirates are actually hopeful that Welbeck will not miss any time at all. He is apparently responding well to the treatment on his knee and will undergo a late fitness test this week to see whether the former Man United man could face his old rivals from Merseyside, perhaps from the bench if not from the start.

Even if Welbeck does not win this race against time, it seems as though it would be the only match he would be unavailable for as the injury is clearly a minor one. With seven Premier League games after the Liverpool clash and the small matter of a Wembley FA cup semi-final against Reading to consider, this injury update is great news for Arsenal fans and Wenger.
