Wenger hails Arsenal team spirit and commitment in Chelsea win

Arsene Wenger was understandably delighted after watching his Arsenal team dismantle our former bogey side Chelsea and give him first blood over their Antonio Conte, the new manager over at Stamford Bridge. As deflated as the Italian was during and after this comfortable and emphatic win for the Gunners, Wenger could hardly keep the smile off his face.

In this post match interview reported by the BBC the Frenchman made light of the fact it was a fine way to celebrate his 20th anniversary as manager of Arsenal, but as the interviewer pointed out it was even sweeter that this milestone was marked by beating Chelsea as they had spoiled both his 500th and 1000th game in charge.

So I am sure that the boss did get an extra buzz from this game because of the circumstances, but perhaps even more important and encouraging for Wenger was the manner of our performance and what it suggests for the future. He pointed out the united nature of the way we played, talking about the commitment, unity and the team spirit we showed from the start.

He made sure to praise the whole team rather than pick out certain individuals and this is what Wenger has been talking about for some time. So after this complete team showing, do Arsenal look like proper title winning material once again?
