Wenger is happy with “absolutely fantastic” Arsenal away form

At least someone is happy! by DN

Arsenal fans may not be happy that the Gunners have dropped five points in two games at home, but as usual Wenger likes to focus on the positives, like getting six points out of six on the road!

A battling win at Crystal Palace was followed by a very nervy win at Newcastle against ten-men, and that was only thanks to a freak own goal. But, as I said, Wenger is happy: “It was a bit of a strange game where we needed different qualities to win,” the manager said. “We needed to keep our nerves, not to overreact, to be patient, intelligent and mature.

“We showed interesting qualities and it is three points. You know at the start of the season that you go to Crystal Palace, you go to Newcastle United and if you come out with six points then that is absolutely fantastic. Overall I’m happy.

“I felt that we were very good defensively and overall I’m absolutely happy with what we did. We won the ball without going into too many tackles. That’s always a sign of intelligence and I’m very happy about that.”

It may be proven during the season that trips by other clubs to Selhurst Park or St James Park may find it just as difficult to win the points, but another fact is that teams that have watched our home games against West Ham and Liverpool are not going to be very scared of coming to the Emirates!
