Wenger refuses to leave unless pushed out by Arsenal?

So it looks like the uncertainty about Arsene Wenger’s future at Arsenal is going to go right to the end of the season, as Kroenke and the Directors are going to stand by the Frenchman until the end of the season at least, especially as Silent Stan is not so bothered about winning trophies as long as the “business” is profitable.

Now a report in the Mirror says that Le Prof has no intention of stepping down, and is carrying on business as usual behind the scenes. Here is an extract from the article:

Arsene Wenger has begun to confirm to people behind-the-scenes at Arsenal it is his intention to stay on as manager — for another TWO years.

Boss Wenger is planning new player contracts, signings and is even drawing up ideas for next pre-season, and those around him believe he wants a new deal when his current one runs out in the summer despite the current fan backlash.

The club’s position has not changed in that the announcement will come at the end of the season, and they said last month it will be a mutual decision.

As has been said earlier, how can it be a “mutual decision”? Does that mean that it is totally up to Wenger whether he goes or not? I am certain that Kroenke for one wouldn’t tell Wenger to leave, especially as the share price keeps rising, and is not known for interering in his companies unless they start losing him some income…

So it looks to me like we have got Le Prof for at least two more years!
