Wenger tells Arsenal fans to Get Ready for GOALS!!

I do hope that Arsene Wenger is right about what us fans can expect to see from the Arsenal team in the next week or so because we have been a little starved of goals to celebrate, especially at the Emirates stadium where the Gunners have drawn a blank in front of goal for the last three games in a row.

The boss reckons that there is no need for concern over this apparent problem, as an Arsenal.com report explains. Wenger feels that his players are doing the right things, up to a point, and that the accuracy of the final ball of the sharpness of the finishing will not stay tantalisingly out of reach for long.

The Gunners have been playing well and creating chances after all and we have come up against three very defensively solid teams and three keepers really on their mettle in the games against Chelsea, Swansea and Sunderland. Perhaps poor old Myhill of West Brom and then Given or Guzan of Aston Villa will pay the price for the Arsenal players´ recent frustration.

Wenger said, ““It’s difficult to analyse really. We didn’t score against Chelsea, Swansea City and Sunderland but it’s unusual for us. If you look at the games, we had the chances to score in every single game.

“What we want to do is to continue to play our game but better, quicker, with more movement and then we will score again. The finishing is in cycles and we have gone through a cycle that is a bit less positive.

“Before, we scored goals for fun and I’m sure if we just concentrate on the quality of our game that we will score again.

“We have made progress, we have better defensive stability, the belief in the team is strengthened for a big challenge next year and we have overcome a hurdle that we did not do last season, to exist in the big games. That is very important when you want to challenge.

“What it will take for us is if you look well at our season we had many players injured together for long periods this season. What it will take first is to have them all together for as long as possible and have not many injuries at the same time.”

So do you expect Arsenal to run riot in front of goal now? Has too much been made of these three home games, especially when you consider that we put three past Hull City in the game after Chelsea and that we scored at Old Trafford?
