Wenger’s Sanchez stance behind Giroud’s Arsenal absence?

Even though Arsene Wenger and everyone at Arsenal Football Club would desperately like the team’s two superstars Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil to sign the extensions to their current contracts that are reportedly being talked about, it appears that the manager is also determined to make sure that they are still aware of who the boss is.

So the title does not mean that Wenger is pandering to the whims of our Chile international striker, but exactly the opposite, as The Mirror is reporting that the boss is getting tough with the former Barcelona star this season.

One of the ways he is doing this, according to the report, is to not allow him to dictate when he is fit to play but instead Wenger will use his own judgment and the advice of the extensive medical and fitness team at the club, just as he did last weekend when Sanchez was left on the bench after getting back from international duty less than two days before the game was due to kick off.

Another way that the manager is said to be stamping his authority is by asking Alexis to play through the middle, with the idea that he was a bit selfish and undisciplined when operating from the left flank. Perhaps this is why the boss has been starting without his fellow Frenchman Olivier Giroud in his usual centre forward role.

What do you make of all this Gooners?
