What are Arsenal’s ‘reachable targets’?

So Arsenal are on a four-match losing run, and have been in absolutely dire form since January, but how can they get out of this awful rut?

Arsene Wenger was asked what his blueprint was in this situation and he replied: “[We need] to fix reachable targets,” he said. “Be practical, pragmatic – focus on what you can do better and analyse well what you didn’t do well and not be scared too much about the consequences of a bad result.

“Focus on defending better, playing quicker and doing more things together. Reachable targets to improve the team.”

And what could be these ‘reachable targets’? Staying in the Top Six in the League? Winning the Europa League? Or just coming away from Milan with less than a thrashing, so we have a chance to come back at the Emirates. Wenger is not thinking too far ahead at the moment. “At the moment, before thinking of winning the Europa League, we have to face Milan and try to give absolutely everything to qualify.

“It will be a tight game, a tight tie because Milan are going well so we have to focus on that.”

I think Wenger is hoping for a tight game, so he will be concentrating on trying to keep Milan’s potent strike force quiet. That will not be easy with the defensive errors we have been making lately. In our last two games we have been 3-0 down to Man City at half time, and 2-1 down to Brighton, whereas Milan have conceded just once in their last six games.

Maybe aiming for a 0-0 draw is a ‘reachable target???
