Which Arsenal team should Wenger pick to get revenge on Liverpool?

Tomorrow’s game is extremely important to Arsenal as Liverpool are just one point ahead and keeping us out of the Top Four, so a win is imperative. We lost our game at Anfield by 4-0 and Wenger is very keen for us to get revenge for that (as well as the points!) He said: “When you have such a long career as I have, you have some defeats unfortunately that hurt you for the rest of your life. I believe what is interesting in football is you always have a time to make up for it.

“When you can put things right, do it. So let’s focus on what is in front of us and turn up on Friday night with a completely different performance.”

So it is yet another must win game for the Gunners, and with Liverpool playing great football, Wenger must be very careful with his team selection. He has been rotating a lot of Arsenal players during this congested Christmas period, and we still have a rough few weeks ahead of us with two games every week, and the boss will have to shuffle the pack for the crucial visit of Liverpool tomorrow. We have already lost Ramsey and Giroud to injuries and Wenger is trying hard not to overwork the players he has left.

Wenger has been tinkering with his formations as well lately, so he was asked if he would reveal the tactics for Friday’s game, but he obviously didn’t give away any clues. “I believe that Liverpool is very good going forward so you need overall a good defensive performance,” he said.

“I have to analyse that well and you have to guess a little bit who will play [for Liverpool]. It is not always the same – it depends on their personnel.

“They have plenty of offensive players and, looking at them recently, they have changed a lot their teams so it is difficult to guess. But I will try to see what I do. For me, the most important thing is we turn up with a positive performance. We have been strong at home and it is important we continue to dictate our game at home.”

One big plus is that Shkrodan Mustafi is back to strengthen our back three and I expect the boss to stick to his 3-4-3 defensive formation and try and hit the Reds fast on the counter-attack. Well, we can’t give anything away to Klopp either, but which team do you think the boss should play to give us the best chance of beating Liverpool?
