Who should be Arsenal’s central midfielders tonight? So many choices…

The Arsenal midfielder Francis Coquelin was given compassionate leave for the game against West Ham, but Wenger has told us he will be returning to the squad today. But should he actually play considering how well Granit Xhaka and Mohamed Elneny performed in that game?

Between the pair of them they made 191 passes, took 213 touches and won 13 duels, and they were roundly praised afterwards. Even Wenger made it clear that he was impressed with the pairing. “The fact that the speed of our passing [was there],” Le Prof said. “In the heart of the game, it is not only the quality of the passing but the speed of our passing that is needed for the way we want to play, because we have quick strikers so it’s important that we feed them quickly.

“On that front, the quality, the speed of the decision making becomes very important.”

“I must say that our passing was quite good, our combinations were good and the continuity of our concentration defensively during the 90 minutes was very positive.”

We not only have Coquelin back, but Oxlade-Chamberlain only played for ten minutes against the Hammers and will also be in contention for a central midfield spot. And of course we always have Aaron Ramsey at the front of Wenger’s mind…

Which two do you think Wenger should go with for today’s game?
