Should Arsenal start the Ox against Liverpool?

The Arsenal and England international star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain may not have had a very good season so far and he still needs to show us a lot more to secure more regular first team football, but after an impressive performance in the centre of midfield against Sunderland in the FA cup, I reckon he should start against Liverpool at Anfield on Wednesday.

Not in the middle again, because I would definitely bring the excellent Aaron Ramsey back after he was given a much needed rest by the boss, but on one of the flanks where he can use his pace, fancy footwork and direct running to drive at the heart of the Liverpool back line.

The fact that they are only going to have one recognised centre back fit and available, and that it is the not very speedy former Gunner Kolo Toure makes the inclusion of the Ox even more sensible, especially if Arsene Wenger decides to start with Theo Walcott instead of Olivier Giroud in the centre forward position.

With either Alexis Sanchez or Joel Campbell on the other flank and with Mesut Ozil pulling the strings, the Liverpool defence and especially their full backs will have their hands full and will have all sorts of problems, and that should allow our own full backs to get forward and give them even more to worry about.

There is one more reason to start the Ox as well – his confidence. After a tough season it does not seem right to drop him after a good performance, and another good game at Anfield could really kick start a run of form for the talented young Gunner. Would you start him again on Wednesday?
