Why Chelsea can help Arsenal to lift Premier League trophy

With Arsenal travelling across London to Stamford Bridge on Saturday to face the current Premier League champions Chelsea, the poor form and internal strife of Jose Mourinho´s team could certainly be a big help to Arsene Wenger and the Gunners, as a win would have us fully over the shaky and worrying start of the season.

Even a draw would not be too bad and would keep Chelsea feeling the blues and struggling to keep in touch with the teams at the top of the table. It is already looking as though Chelsea will not be challenging for the title this season, especially if Arsenal beat them on Saturday and open up a nine point gap.

The faltering champions could help Arsenal´s title challenge in another way as well though, because Man City are currently on a 100 percent EPL run and unless something happens to knock them off their stride, it might not matter how far ahead of Chelsea we finish because it will be City lifting the giant trophy next May.

A few injury problems have started to come up for City and that could help, although they do have a very strong and deep squad. For me their biggest weakness is in the attitude and focus of the players, highlighted by how poor and inconsistent they have been in both seasons after winning the league.

So with Chelsea, supposedly their main rivals, in such disarray, there is a real chance that City could relax and take their eye off the ball and if that happens and they do lose momentum, it is a hard thing to get back and Arsenal could be the ones to take advantage and close the gap. Do you think City will continue to steamroller on or will they start to slip up?
