Why letting this striker leave would HELP Arsenal

Now that Arsenal have Olivier Giroud back in the first team after his freak tibia injury at the start of the season, and with Theo Walcott back in training and on the bench for the away game at Anfield, the attacking side of the Arsenal squad is the one thing that Arsene Wenger does not have to worry about.

There have been Arsenal transfer rumours linking Wenger with various strikers in the January transfer window, but unless the boss was telling porkies when he said recently that Lukas Podolski and Joel Campbell would be styaying and playing, I cannot see the need for us to strengthen in that area.

On the contrary, I think Arsenal should seriously consider saying yes to the request of Premier League Crystal Palace, as they want to take our young French forward Yaya Sanogo on loan until the end of the season, according to a Daily Mail report.

Neil Warnock’s team are only above the relegation places on goal difference but they have been a bit unlucky. The manager is keen to bring in at least one striker in January and I think we should let Sanogo be the one. Let’s be honest and admit that he is not going to get much football for us unless our injury crisis deepens to utter disaster and the youngster needs to play.

Not only will regular EPL games be really good for him, but Sanogo could help Palace to take some valuable points off our rivals, just as Chelsea’s loanees have done in recent seasons. If Wenger gets the loan deal done quickly enough, Sanogo could be lining up at home for Palace against the spuds on January 10th. And he could have more effect on our season in that one game than he could by staying at the Emirates for six months. What do you think Gooners?
