The Arsenal fans and manager Arsene Wenger will be hoping that our north London rivals have to cope with a bit of the bad luck on the injury front that we are often forced to cope with, as they have a number of key first team players currently in the treatment room.
Knowing our luck, though, it is a lot more likely that the England trio of Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Harry Winks will be passed fit just in time for the north London derby at the Emirates stadium next weekend, along with the France international number one Hugo Lloris and at least one of their two Belgian centre backs Vertonghen and Alderweireld.
The sports injury website physioroom.com does have most of these Spurs stars pencilled in for a return to action against the Gunners and I think that Wenger has to plan as if they will be in the Tottenham team to face us. Uncertainty over the spuds’ side is just one more problem for the boss to face as well, because I reckon he has an extremely difficult job in picking the right tactics for this crucial clash.
Does he go for it, be cautious, or try to find a happy medium? At home and needing the points you would expect Arsenal to at least be positive but against the pace and clinical counter attacking of the visitors that may not be the best way of getting a result.
Tottenham also need a win for their own title challenge so maybe Wenger can use this to the benefit of Arsenal. frustrating them and playing them at their own game on the break. If we have Welbeck available again with Lacazette and Alexis then we would have lots of counter attacking pace ourselves, while our defence should also be boosted by Mustafi and Mertesacker, so how do you think Wenger should set up Arsenal for this derby match?
