Why would Arsenal offer MEGA money to Ozil but not Alexis?

If the Arsenal transfer rumours are true then it is hardly surprising that the Arsenal and Chile international star Alexis Sanchez has seemed less than pleased of late, because even though Mesut Ozil is a great player, I do not think you would get many Arsenal fans arguing that it is the Chilean who is more important to our team than the Germany international.

However, with both of these two players coming towards the final year of their current deals with the club, there have been contract negotiations with the pair going on and so far it seems that neither have been persuaded to sign. This is despite the fact that The Mirror is reporting that Arsenal are ready to smash the wage structure to keep Ozil and have offered to pay him around £280,000 a week.

At the same time we have a report in The Guardian revealing that Alexis Sanchez has had to use an apparently huge offer to transfer to another club to sharpen the minds of the Arsenal board into accepting his own wage demands of around £250,000 a week.

Does it make sense to you that the Gunners are stalling and perhaps saying no to paying the super striker a bit less than we are willing to offer the German? Is this just another example of Wenger’s preference for technical players who do not want to rock the boat?
