Will Arsenal need TWO replacements in January?

Quite a lot of Arsenal fans still believe that we still need to bring in a DM in January, as Arteta and Flamini are hardly adequate cover for Francis Coquelin, but according to the recent Arsenal transfer rumours we are likely to need at least two more replacements for out-going players.

Arsene Wenger refused to sell Joel Campbell last summer, despite the Costa Rican and his agent doing their utmost to bring him offers, and it was a good idea as our injury problems have meant that Campbell has finally managed to get a run in the First XI. But he hasn’t impressed much and it is now being mooted that he will be sold in January as his contract is set to end next summer.

It is being reported that the two Turkish giants Fenerbahce and Galatasaray are both keen to sign him, and it would appear that Arsene Wenger has a decision to make about his future very shortly.

The other possibility is that we may also need a replacement for another unimpressive backup in Matthieu Debuchy. The 29 year-old has been told by Didier Deschamps that he is unlikely to be picked to represent France at next years Euros if he is not getting regular gametime during the season, and with Hector Bellerin in such fantastic form he is only likely to be used when the young Spaniard is injured.

Deschamps told him a couple of weeks ago: “Mathieu Debuchy is in a position where he is playing very little, when he does play, look at yesterday’s result.

“He has a decision to make in December or January. He hasn’t lost his quality, he’s playing very little.”

It’s not just Matthieu that needs to make a decision, it has to be sanctioned by Arsene Wenger, and he is unlikely to let either player go unless he has a replacement lined up to replace them, which is never very simple in January……
