Will Arsenal really collapse against Burnley after that performance?

Despite Arsenal giving an out-of-the-world performance against Tottenham this weekend, there is still little belief that we can build on that and start moving up the table again. The reason for that is our inconsistency and our dire away form, and the ex-Man United star Rio Ferdinand finds it hard to believe that Mesut Ozil will reproduce his brilliant performance and the Gunners can beat Burnley next week.

“I’ll back Burnley to win [Sunday’s] game they’re in good form it’s a hard place to go and you don’t know what you’re going to get out of Arsenal,” Ferdinand said. “This isn’t about Mesut Ozil this is about the Arsenal team. The way they played today to a man.

“The pressing the intensity of their game today. But you watch them play 10 games you might get that three or four times and the other five or six it’s not the same.

“At the top of the game when the margins are so small you can’t afford to take your foot off the gas.”

Surely Arsenal won’t rest on their laurels now after beating Tottenham? We have moved to just one point below the Spuds and that should surely be motivation enough to get the Arsenal team to carry on playing like demons.

Shouldn’t it?
