Will Liverpool loss really end Arsenal hopes of catching Chelsea?

I expect that most of the Arsenal fans, whether we are watching our own match against Watford on TV, listening to it on the radio or keeping up with the action in some other way, will also be keeping an eye or an ear on the Premier League clash between Liverpool and Chelsea.

That match kicks off 15 minutes after our own and it could be a very tense 15 minutes for the Gunners after the final whistle blows, as we all know that Chelsea are the team to beat in this title race and we could really do with a favour from the scousers tonight.

Assuming that Arsenal do beat the out of form Hornets at the Emirates Stadium, the gap between us and the current leaders will be cut to five, at least until their game ends. With Arsenal going to Stamford Bridge on Saturday, we could theoretically finish the week just two points off Chelsea and that would definitely make it game on.

On the other hand, some pundits reckon that Chelsea could have sealed the title before Arsenal even face them at the weekend, with a Sky Sports report claiming that a win over Liverpool would be enough for Antonio Conte’s side. In fact they are saying that Chelsea just need to avoid defeat in their next two games to secure the EPL trophy, but is this not just a bit presumptuous?

If Chelsea do draw both of these big games and Arsenal beat Watford, the gap will be six points and there will be 15 games left to play. Does that sound done and dusted to you?
