Arsene Wenger has insisted that Jack Wilshere is on course to make England’s World Cup squad, and will challenge for a first-team Arsenal role in the coming months.
The 26 year-old has suffered with a number of injury setbacks in his career thus far, but is claimed to be nearing full strength at present, and has impressed in his limited outings so far this term.
Wilshere is being touted for a spot in next summer’s England squad, with the current options showing a lack of creativity, and Wenger believes he can earn that spot with Arsenal, despite claims he could pursue a move in January.
“I believe Jack is in the best form for a long time,” Wenger said.
“He is very close to be considered like everyone else.
“He doesn’t need to leave Arsenal to go to the World Cup.
“If he plays like he is at the moment, I think he will go to the World Cup.
“He has played games for us and he will play many more.
“Of course [England need Wilshere].
“Jack is more of a No.10 than any other player. He can play in tight areas.”
The midfielder has been impressing on the pitch, and once fully fit he will no doubt be a boost to our options, and England would relish being able to call upon him next summer.
Wilshere’s ability to find a forward pass is second to none in the Premier League, and he will get plenty of opportunities this term for us should he manage to prove his fitness I feel.
