Wolves expected line-up assessed ahead of Arsenal game

Wolves are likely to field the same sort of formation that Arsenal will employ in this evening’s crucial Premier League clash.

Nuno Espirito Santo will probably go with a three-man defence complemented by two wing-backs, a three-man midfield and two forwards, basically a 3-5-2.

Rui Patrício will start in goal with Ryan Bennett, Conor Coady and Willy Boly the most likely three in defence.

Jonathan Castro Otto (Jonny) and Matt Doherty are set to be deployed on the left and right flanks respectively.

Leander Dendoncker, Ruben Neves and Joao Moutinho will form a formidable three-man midfield, though Morgan Gibbs-White or Romain Saiss remain possible alternatives.

Finally, up front, we should see Raul Jimenez and Diogo Jota partnered up.

Possible Wolves eleven

Patrício
Bennett
Coady
Boly
Dendoncker
Doherty
Neves
Moutinho
Otto
Jimenez
Jota

If this is the team that Nuno goes with then the Arsenal defence will have their hands full with Jota and Jimenez. And the midfield will have a battle royale with Neves, Moutinho and Dendoncker.

That said, they are not world beaters and are going through a bit of a bad patch right now. If Unai Emery sends out the right sort of team to combat Wolves in their areas of strength then this Wolves line up is one that we really can beat.
