Would key star really quit Arsenal for Tottenham???

Reports are emerging claiming that Aaron Ramsey is being targeted for a move by Tottenham Hotspur, with the midfielder’s current deal expiring at the end of next season.

The Welshman has been a key player for our club in recent seasons, with only injuries hampering his progress, and Ramsey is easily one of Arsene Wenger favoured options when available.

Jack Wilshere has been challenging Ramsey for his first-team role this term, thoroughly impressing whilst the former Cardiff City youngster was sidelined through injury, but Wenger has even opted to field both in a midfield three in the Europa League this week, meaning we could well be seeing much more of the duo together in the coming months.

Both homegrown talents are into the latter stages of their contracts however, with the English central star inside the final months of his deal, and our club is seemingly struggling to tie the pair down to extended deals, while both should be priorities.

Frank Lampard said recently that Arsenal should be building the team around the talents of Ramsey, seeing similarities in Aaron that he used to enjoy in himself, and our club could well allow themselves to endure another contract saga which they went through with Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez recently.

As if it wasn’t painful enough to consider having to allow our best players to leave the club, we are now forced to envisage a future in which we will watch some key players jump ship to our rivals, who we have long-been describing as ‘in our shadow’.

I like to think that none of our key players would even second think a switch to White Hart Lane (or their new unnamed stadium), but it would be a huge reality check if someone like Ramsey did force a move to their club.

Would Ramsey really consider playing for Tottenham? Does the club undervalue Wilshere and Ramsey?
