Alexis Sanchez long term injury? I don’t believe it!

In an earlier post today I made the terrible mistake of saying that Olivier Giroud would only get his starting spot back for Arsenal if Alexis Sanchez got injured….

I reckon the writers at CNN in Chile must have been reading that, because they are now reporting that our superstar has had to leave training and go for medical treatment. And they are saying it could be a torn muscle, which means a long long spell in the treatment room.

This would be a major disaster to Arsenal’s title charge, as there is no doubt that Sanchez is far away our best player. It is also ironic that only today Alexis was telling the world that he hates not playing. ‘He told me to rest, but I don’t like to rest,’ Sanchez said about Wenger. ‘Neither in the matches. I don’t like to be out, I get upset, I go home sad, because I train to play, I rest to play.

‘It’s my job and I do everything to perform at 100%.’

I am hoping that this is just a sensationalist exaggeration by CNN and he will be back on the pitch next week. Or maybe Giroud ordered a voodoo doll after my earlier story!

Uh Oh! Breaking News!
Chile have just released a statement on their website……..

It said: “The Medical Corps of the Chilean National Team reports that player Alexis Sánchez has a low grade muscular injury.

“The athlete will remain in Santiago, under treatment and in evaluation.”

Should we start seriously worrying about now?

  1. Was he stretched out? If you tear your muscle, you it’s more than likely that you won’t be walking out with our own legs.

Fingers crossed this is a hoax..

    1. @J McLovin
Doesn’t seem to be a hoax dude. It’s all over the sports pages…DANG!!!!Time for Lucas to step up.

        1. Mourinho will see this and smile.
Let’s see if wenger can mastermind an away win against mourinho without sanchez

This is where he proves.his mettle

          All on you arsene

            1. As always. OG was never happy when a new striker was to be bought. But alexis we will miss him alot. We are almost done.

      1. Cheers Admin!!

Low-grade muscular injury, in my experience that would mean a minor tear or some kind of strain.. Shouldn’t be more than 2-3 weeks I reckon with the little knowledge given..

  2. new reports claim it’s a ‘low grade’ injury and could play on Tuesday against Uruguay. phew!! now Wenger CALL HIM BACK!!

    that was a close one

  3. Any medium/long-term injury for Alexis, and we’re done for! Even if he’s fine, it’s still shocking Wenger didn’t sign a top quality winger or striker. We’ve got lucky with Walcott’s goals so far, but given his track record, it’s unlikely he’ll be able to keep this up for most the of season, which means it’s all down to Alexis!

It won’t happen, but I hope Arsenal spend big in January on a quality forward.

  4. With welbeck , Perez getting reoccurring setbacks and now Sanchez is there a case for another striker(January)?

Andre silva (Porto) Porto have to gain arround £110m in sales of players so they will be willing to sell at the right price. He is also on fire this season.his age(22) means he will be slowly groomed into potentially being our main striker

    1. We should get Lucas, Akpom before January
      We have Giroud, Theo
And Alexis may not be out for long

Let’s wait and see how Alexis is before we panic

  5. ok team teams that win the league when one are two players get injuries they still win game because of the quality of the team on players but arsenal this team has been together for four year there will not improve this is as good as it get we going no where with ozil in the number ten position sanchez dictate the game not him for me when fit perize on the right grioud up front sanchez number ten role Welbeck on the lw elenny shaka defender that is my Atletico Madrid
