Arsenal v Spurs review – Two points lost despite pressure

Arsenal and our local rivals Tottenham went into this north London derby in pretty indifferent form but knowing that a win could and would kick start the campaign. But you would not have known it from the way the game went in the first half.

The spuds were awful! I expected them to be in our face but they were happy to sit back and if Arsenal had been on the ball the game could have been over by the break. As it was we got dragged into a lame midfield battle and by halftime we were looking a bit short on ideas. Losing Mikel Arteta and Aaron Ramsey to injury did not help.

We had definitely missed an opportunity though that seemed to be what Wenger said at the break because we came out in a much more positive way after the restart, but we had no luck because our adventurousness led to the spuds grabbing a shock opener. But Arsenal got back on level terms after a few minutes of worry but they couldn’t go on and turn their dominance into a win. The Gunners were definitely the better team and Tottenham were more than haapy to settle for a draw. So, a moral victory to Arsenal but 2 points down the drain.

  3. Wenger dropped us 3 points today with his stupid line up.
If injuries didnt balance our team we would have lost.
    Tired of this bullsh*t.

  4. If it wasn’t for Ladyluck forcing changes it could have been worse.

Really a game we should have won. Another draw, we need some wins now nothing less. (Nice business strengthening DM position with Flamini).

  5. Szczesny caused that goal. He cleared the ball too quickly, even while the Spurs players were still pressing. No need to mention Flamini; we’ve already said it all about needing a proper CDM.
