Following a dramatic and exciting last day of group games at Euro 2016, we all have a few days without football before the serious business of the knockout stage begins, so I thought it might be worth a look back over the tournament so far, with a firm eye on how the various Arsenal players have done so far.
Lots of football sites have been doing the same, of course, and picking the best XI players of Euro 2016 so far and as far as I can see the best represented Arsenal players in these selections are the new transfer acquisition Granit Xhaka, the Wales midfielder Aaron Ramsey and the German play maker Mesut Ozil.
Xhaka has got Arsenal fans buzzing with his three Man of the Match performances for Switzerland, while Ramsey has been a key factor in the Wesl beating England to top spot and Ozil has been in typically creative and flowing form for Germany but there is strong competition from the likes of Iniesta, Payet, Pogba, Kante, Kroos, Hamsik, Modric, Joe Allen, Perisic, Busquets and more. Which, if any, of the Arsenal trio would you put in your best XI?
It is hard to argue for the inclusion of Wilshere, Giroud, Szczesny or Cech and impossible to argue for Bellerin as the young Spanish right back has not featured yet, but I would put forward the case of Laurent Koscielny as he has not really put a foot wrong yet and has made some key defensive moves, helping France to concede just once and that was a penalty that he did not give away.
Which Gunners have caught your eye or particularly disappointed so far?
