Agent says South American star “would be delighted to play for Arsenal”

Arsenal will not be signing Miguel Almiron this summer, but his agent confirms an approach.

The Gunners were reported to be close to signing the 22 year-old, this week, but despite an approach, he will not be joining our club during the current window.

Almiron will now stay with his Argentine side, although his agent believes that the North-London side could well have been testing the waters ahead of a future deal.

Daniel Campos said: “Actually there was an approach, but it didn’t go any further.

“I see it more for the future.”

Campos confirmed that his client would love to make the switch should the opportunity arise, with a fee of under £10 Milliion required to land him.

“That’s up to Lanus. But around €10 million,” he said. “No doubt he’d be delighted to play in the Premier League and for Arsenal.”

The Youtube enthusiasts will have been excited by the prospect of landing the Paraguay international, although his skill and ability is still raw, and I would not have expected him to be ready for first-team football at Arsenal this season regardless.

We have already confirmed deals to sign Shkodran Mustafi and Lucas Perez this week however, and with a wealth of midfield options currently in the squad despite the summer departures of Tomas Rosicky, Flamini and Mikel Arteta, a midfielder appears unlikely to be a priority for today.

If we were to sign one more player today, what position should it be? Does Almiron look good enough for Arsenal?

  1. I wouldn’t say that weare fully loaded in the midfield positions, now that Campbell and Jack have been loaned out.
Cazorla is no spring chicken and is now more prone to get injured.
Ramsey is injury prone, full stop!
Walcott also seems to pick up injuries more often than not.
Elneny will be missing for at least one month, when he joins up with Egypt for African nations competition, you can add Iwobi too that.

Interesting times ahead or same old Groundhog day’s awaits us?
    Time will tell.

  2. Miguel Almiron, sign him up, raw he may be, talanted without a doubt and could certainly be used from the bench.
