Alexis passion was ‘too much’ for Arsenal team-mates claims Bellerin

Hector Bellerin has claimed that Alexis Sanchez demanded too much from his fellow Arsenal team-mates prior to his departure from the club.

The Chilean left the club to join Manchester United last month, in a deal which saw Henrikh Mkhitaryan move in the opposite direction, and there was plenty of talk about his influence in the dressing room.

Some have claimed that Alexis was a negative influence in the backroom, and Bellerin has now added his thoughts, claiming that although he is amongst the best players in the league, he sometimes demanded too much from his club mates, before refuting any claims that he didn’t give his all for the club even towards the end of his Gunners career.

‘Alexis is an amazing player, for me one of the best players in the Premier League for sure,” Bellerin said.

“But he’s a player who always wants to win. He demands from everyone, and sometimes it can be quite too much.

“But the good thing about him, he just wants to win, it doesn’t matter who he’s playing for.

“At that time when he was playing for Arsenal, he just wanted to give 100 percent for Arsenal.

“It’s true that this season maybe things weren’t going as well for him, but I truly believe that he was giving his 100 percent in every game.”

Did Alexis’ manner in the backroom detriment his relationship with his fellow players? Did he ever appear to give up trying on the pitch?
