Alexis Sanchez scores, breaks record and wins MOTM! (plus video)

Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez truly is a Duracell Bunny as he plays in an international tournament with Chile every single summer, and he wins quite a lot of them too! Not even spraining his ankle before the first game stopped him coming on and scoring and he did it again last night, scoring his record-breaking 38th goal for the South American side when he gave them the lead against Germany, although Stindl equalized later on to earn the Germans a point.

Strangely enough it was a Shkodran Mustafi error that allowed Alexis through on goal in the early stages of the match.

With Australia and Cameroon also drawing yesterday, Chile now only need a point from their Final Group match against Australia to go through to the next round, and Alexis feels his side could go all the way again. “I’m very happy to be Chile’s top-scorer now, our dream is to win this tournament and we feel we have a chance,” he said after picking up the Man Of The Match award.

Enjoy watching yet another Alexis strike below, and keep your fingers crossed that he is still playing at Arsenal next season!

  1. Congratulations to Sanchez. I hope he will not join another club, because he is like Arsenal’s Messi now.

If he does leave, I hope the fans will not blame him, because he is already 28 years old and this year might be his last chance to get Ballon D’Or and other top trophies. I just hope Arsenal could get another forward/playmaker with similar skills, such as Thiago, Rafinha and Sergi Roberto.

  2. Alexis is our best player since Henry I think
(No disrespect to Van Persie and Cesc)
I am an Atheist but I’ve started praying he will stay out of desperation

    Congrats to Alexis
    We need you 🙂

    1. You’re right. Had Fabregas and Van Persie had half the heart and desire of Sanchez we would have won the league. They were fantastic players but not the never give up attitude of Sanchez.

  3. As well as all the other deadwood, it’s been reported that Wenger is willing to sell The Ox, Giroud and Jack wheelchair to fund the resigning of Sanchez & Ozil.

Apparently, Barcelona have given up on signing Bellerin.

  4. Arsenal will miss him when he leaves.
You cannot blame him – best to get off a ship when it is sinking, not when it has sunk.
What an utterly crappy and underwhelming summer of “activity” from Arsenal.
We should not have expected more from Arsenal to be honest – the big talk of change was just a ruse to get money.
    No ambition and no chance…
And Liverpool have just signed Salah..
    Arsenal have signed f**k all.
At least the protests and nastiness directed towards him will be entertaining…

    1. I get the feeling that your gonna be in for a pleasant surprise mate ??
As well as Poker, Wenger likes a game of stacking Dominos and once that first piece falls ? the knock on effect will leave many wetting their pants ?? Give it at least 2 more weeks. wait & see.

  5. According to reports in Germany via TeamTalk, Arsenal are ready to formalise their interest in Schalke midfielder Leon Goretzka by submitting an offer…. ?? that will no doubt be 5 million under his valuation ??
