Another player being considered as a replacement for Aaron Ramsey – (plus video)

It seems that almost every single midfielder in Europe and South America is being considered as a replacement for the soon to depart Aaron Ramsey, and you can now throw the name of Kerem Demirbay into the mix.

German outlet Bild is claiming that not only are we interested in the Hoffenheim star but that contact has actually been made with the club.

The 25-year-old is a former youth international for Turkey, however, he has switched to represent Germany and has made two senior appearances for the national team.

Demirbay is apparently available for just £22 million due to a release clause in his contract, a fee that we can easily afford, and Arsenal have reportedly informed Hoffenheim that they are prepared to pay that figure.

We are not the only club interested in the player though, it turns out that unnamed clubs in Turkey are also keen on signing the attacking midfielder.

Demirbay has knocked in four goals so far this season and provided eight assists and while that is not prolific it is the sort of return to be expected from a player in his position.

I must confess that I know very little about Demirbay but what I have seen of him on youtube he does look half decent and could be a good choice to replace Ramsey, so it is encouraging that we have made contact with his club.

You can judge for yourselves with this video….

    1. Sounds like an ideal replacement for Vieira. Ramsey, Wilshere, Cazorla and Diaby are of different type and cannot fill Vieira’s shoes

Ashley Cole described Vieira as the best midfielder he ever worked with and this guy’s statistics/ physical attributes show a lot of potential

Maybe the main catch is his attitude, showed when he insulted a female referee by saying “women have no place in men’s football”. But Vieira also had a problem with his temper

  1. Very tall, true box-to-box midfielder, technically gifetd despite his size, fast, left footed with an eye for decisive passing.More German than Turkish in professionalism.Almost identical with Abu Diaby(including the height).

    1. Stats could be deceiving, therefore I urge Arsenal to examine him thoroughly to not make the same mistake as what they did with Mustafi and Xhaka

Both Gunners had dazzling stats, even at Arsenal, but I’m not satisfied with their contributions. I wish Xhaka can score more goals and create more assists from set-pieces

  2. Torreira-Xhaka are the starting pivot
    NewDM-Guedouzi are the backup.

For CAM we need to get a new player
    Ozil/Mkhi can be backup

    Get ISCO for 60m.

We dont need to replace Ramsey

  3. I think there a two ways to go towards replacing Aaron Ramsey. Either Spend big, or buy back a young player who is dynamic, knows our club, will be value, and also has a great engine and technical skills……Ismael Bennacer. He is 21 and coming into his own. I have a feeling that this is already on the cards. So Xhaka, Guendouzi, Torreira and Ismael Bennacer may end up our group of midfield players. This means a winger and defensive players will be the places to revitalise. We are all clear that Mustafi must go. One good thing is Sokratis and Koscielny look good together so when Holding returns and Mavropanos is full fit and we have a newcomer central defence will look stronger. We now have Bellerin and AMN competing for RB/RWB, no complaints there. At left back, Monreal is in his twilight career and Kolasinac needs someone to push him or replace him. So we need a class winger where the big money can go, a proven centre back and a quality left back will energise the group. I do rate Bennacer and like Torreira and Guendouzi he could be a great cheaper option. Of course Smith Rowe, Reiss Nelson and maybe even Krystian Bielik will be challenging a bit.

  4. Why hasn’t anyone mentioned Rabiot. He’s gonna be a free agent in the summer. Shouldn’t we go for him instead. Plus Emery has worked with him previously during his time as PSG coach. What do we think?

    1. Rabiot has been mentioned any times. He had his heart set on Barcelona, but they looked elsewhere. Rabiot has gone quiet, but still a possibility. The worry is his mother, who is his manager.
