Are Arsenal fans happy with German overhaul?

Arsenal fans have been calling for change over the past few years, and while the changes aren’t the direct answer to the request, there could finally be some huge improvements.

Sven Mislintat is the biggest new recruit being brought in from Borussia Dortmund after an impressive 11 year spell with the BVB, but his appointment is not the only one.

Jens Lehmann and fellow German Per Mertesacker will all be a part of our backroom staff come the end of the season, and the Deutsche influence will certainly ring some changes, and Mislintat will likely bring in some of his own scouts also.

The former BVB director is coming in as Head of our scouting department, and his reputation proceeeds itself in that department, having been key in the acquisitions of Robert Lewandowski, Ousmane Dembele, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and many more.

Mislintat is now targeting an extended stay in North London, and is keen to continue to grow and improve in his new surroundings, while refusing to rule out a return to his former club in the distant future.

“I was born in Dortmund, I’m a Dortmund kid, I studied here,” he told Kicker. “Of course I won’t rule it out but I’m not leaving with the intention to return.

“I’m following my path to develop further and I want to keep learning.

“At Arsenal I want to do the very best job I can do. I’m excited for the challenge and can easily imagine myself at Arsenal, in London, for 10, 12 years as long as my family and I feel at home there.”

Asked why the German school of thinking was becoming increasingly popular at the Emirates Mislintat said: “I don’t know but I have nothing against it.

“The setup will definitely make communicating easier for me to begin with.”

“At the end of May, Wenger won the cup for the seventh time in 21 years. On top of his three league title wins.

“I find it really difficult to deny his success. I’m excited to work with him! I can only learn from someone who has proven his quality over decades.”

Are the club working on making the big changes needed within our club? Or will nothing change until Kroenke, Gazidis and/or Wenger leaves?
