We’ve become a history museum. A hall full of great history, yet nothing notable has been added in 14 years. Arsene is the main fossil who keeps trying to brush off the dust, which falls on the same place since it can’t get out. The windows are shut and you cannot see the outside world.
Things happen, competition is stiff, but we’ve staled. We haven’t changed anything but the entry fee, which is the highest in the world and yet despite the flashy new building inside everything is rotting. We keep digging the same tombstones looking for hidden treasures, but the promising talents keep leaving to find better shelter.
Arsene Wenger is the main fossil of the Arsenal museum. A true foundation, that once revolutionised Arsenal is now trying the same old trick but people have grown tired of this. The holy grail in the form of making the top 4 is also gone and with it, the shackles have broken too.
No longer is anyone to believe what a good job we’ve done since the main selling event was the Champions league, and it is now gone and the best players this club has to offer will soon be gone too. So can we stop living in the past and start catching up to modern day football, by giving power to some new people to run this club?
Sven Mitislat is supposed to take over our scouting and Raul Sanllehi was appointed, although I’m not sure what his exact position is, but the true question is whether they’ll be given green light to architect a new project that will attract better players and offer a better future for Arsenal?
Difficult to say yet, but if we manage to get Aubameyang and Mkhitaryan it’ll be a good start. Whether or not the Armenian is the best player we can get, taking him plus 35 million pounds is a golden deal for a player out of contract in 3 months with a terrible relationship to his team mates!
Besides, we’ve given players like Diaby and Walcott 10 years and got nothing in return so I’m all up for new exhibits on the shelf. It’s great to see some of the unused, never reached their potential players finally leave, but if we get nobody in on their place, soon we will run out of fuel to keep pumping the financial machine Arsenal is all about.
Hopefully though, there’s some light in the tunnel and the new people on the sporting side, are allowed to do their magic. Maybe we can clear the deadwood backroom staff, just like the players. Then the manager will be the last and most difficult piece to remove from an old puzzle that been out of frame for 10 years.
