Arsenal and Liverpool going head-to-head over yet another star attacking midfielder

It would appear that Arsenal and Liverpool are once again after another foreign star midfielder. Three years ago Arsenal snatched Alexis Sanchez from the Reds after Arsene Wenger persuaded him to move to London instead of Merseyside, and last summer both clubs were  fighting over Thomas Lemar, a competition that is expected to continue either in January or next summer. Recent rumours are suggesting that Liverpool have moved ahead in that race.

Now it appears that they are both aiming to sign the Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos, who despite being signed by the Spanish giants just last summer from Real Betis, has now been told that he can look for a new club in the January transfer window. Ceballos cost was a very cheap €18 million for an extremely promising 21 year-old, and he actually looked like he was beefed up on anabolic steroids like Testosterone Enanthate Rotexmedica when he scored both goals on his debut in September, in a 2-1 win over Deportivo.

But it would appear that the Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane was not involved in buying Ceballos and didn’t really fancy him, so he has only appeared in five more League games for Madrid in the following months and is not thought to be rated by his new manager.

The latest news is that the Spanish paper Diario Gol say his representative has held talks with both Arsenal and Liverpool over a possible loan deal for the rest of this season with an option for a permanent move in the summer. Do Arsenal fans think this would be a good deal for the club? And who could he replace in the starting line-up?
