Arsenal beat Chelsea to agree terms with Romelu Lukaku

An Italian journalist has revealed that Arsenal have agreed personal terms with Romeli Lukaku about a summer move to the Emirates Stadium.

The 23 year-old is currently in France helping his side to try and win the European Championships, and has netted two goals so far in helping his side to reach the knock-out rounds.

Belgium will now meet Portugal in the round of 16, who have so far failed to win a single match, despite scoring three times in one game against Hungary.

Following on from the tournament, Lukaku was believed to be confident of sealing a move away from Everton, having set his heart on playing at the top level.

In March, he said: “For me, things are going well at Everton right now. I can become top scorer of the Premier League. But, yes, I could be leaving the club in the summer.”

Journalist Emanuele Giulianelli has now claimed that the Belgian striker has now agreed terms ahead of a switch to Arsenal in the coming months.

Chelsea had been odds on to re-sign their former forward, with Lukaku known to remain a CFC supporter, but this news appears to question such a move.

The Gunners had recently failed in bids to sign Alvaro Morata and Jamie Vardy, and were expected to be eyeing other targets, and may now have managed to catch the big-names striker fans have been asking for for a number of years.

Is Lukaku the guy needed to lead Arsenal to glory next season? Is Lukaku the best striker available on the market? Or does the possibility of Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang ruin such thoughts?

  1. Whether this is true or not, why didn’t we go for him in the first place instead of Vardy? His first touch may need some work but that can be ironed out and he does have quite a few goals in him as well…

    1. There’s nothing extraordinary bout Arsenal beating chelsea to agree terms with Lukaku

      1) we are in the championsleague, they are not (or would brexit now affect UCL?)

      2) we would guarantee him more playing time with giroud mostly as our regular CF and welbeck mostly injured while chelsea got costa, pato and remy

      3) chelsea used to be his boyhood club, they rejected and loaned him out…..perhaps he felt betrayed and won’t want a repeat of the episode…hence a new destination may be on his cards

      crazy right?

And thats if the info is half as true ….as this emanuele giulianelli is an ardent reporter of bollox….. He was a pain in our a**** last summer

You think so? How many players have actually improved at Arsenal?

      Chamakh declined
      Park declined
      Santos declined
      Gervinho declined
      Campbell is declining

Okay, Koscielny and Giroud seem to have improved, but same cannot be said of most!

    1. same guy said same thing about Higuain and Ryad Mahrez.

I don’t believe a single word he says. He has no source whatsoever. jut wants attention.

  2. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA…

Wasn’t it this same man who was talking about Benzema having his medical with us last season? Or am I mistaking him for someone else.?

I don’t want to believe him so I am not disappointed in the end.

In other news Westham of all clubs is relaunching a bid of 40M pounds for Lacazette!!! This striker thing ain’t no child’s play anymore. We can’t afford to play the miser any longer. The world has become a very different place.

    1. this noon on supersports……… Westham were reportedly after michy batshuayi(fee agreement)………. Could they be after Lacazette as well?

      Jeez Bilic

  3. Here we go again……I dread this journalist. It is very difficult to believe Him.. .

I will wait till I see the news on sports or bbcnews. …

For now it is speculation.. .

  5. If true (big IF) Lukaku would be a very nice addition to the team. In my view, a better player (for us) than Vardy would have been.

However, we shall see if there is any weight to the rumour.

    Hope so.

  6. This dude is a bit hit and miss all right. But he was one of the early birds in reporting Xhaka interest and Vardy interest. He was wrong about Benzema and Higuain joining, but he was not wrong about us wanting and bidding for them. He presumed a little, added to a story, like most people do when passing on hearsay. He was in the ball park all the same.

  7. Lukaku has a poor first touch, doesn’t hold the ball up well and is not as fast as the forwards we already have. I don’t believe he would complement our style of play any more than Vardy would have. I would much prefer a player like Higuain. If we put in a bid for him he will come. Vardy leaving a team he had one the league with was always unlikely but Higuain has to be frustrated that with all the goals he has scored last season he’s still not wining the league. Juventus have got that league on lock.

    1. The big difference…Lukaku is proven in the EPL, Higuain isn’t, and I have a feeling he wouldn’t take to it very well. Be good to see if he could though..
