Arsenal beat Chelsea to agree terms with Romelu Lukaku

An Italian journalist has revealed that Arsenal have agreed personal terms with Romeli Lukaku about a summer move to the Emirates Stadium.

The 23 year-old is currently in France helping his side to try and win the European Championships, and has netted two goals so far in helping his side to reach the knock-out rounds.

Belgium will now meet Portugal in the round of 16, who have so far failed to win a single match, despite scoring three times in one game against Hungary.

Following on from the tournament, Lukaku was believed to be confident of sealing a move away from Everton, having set his heart on playing at the top level.

In March, he said: “For me, things are going well at Everton right now. I can become top scorer of the Premier League. But, yes, I could be leaving the club in the summer.”

Journalist Emanuele Giulianelli has now claimed that the Belgian striker has now agreed terms ahead of a switch to Arsenal in the coming months.

Chelsea had been odds on to re-sign their former forward, with Lukaku known to remain a CFC supporter, but this news appears to question such a move.

The Gunners had recently failed in bids to sign Alvaro Morata and Jamie Vardy, and were expected to be eyeing other targets, and may now have managed to catch the big-names striker fans have been asking for for a number of years.

Is Lukaku the guy needed to lead Arsenal to glory next season? Is Lukaku the best striker available on the market? Or does the possibility of Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang ruin such thoughts?
