Arsenal blew the Blues away in more ways than one

Arsenal blew the Blues away today in more ways than one, the most obvious being the totally dominant performance against the Chelsea blues of Antonio Conte, who could do nothing as his new team was ripped apart almost at will by the in form Arsenal side.

Not only was their defence having a nightmare trying to deal with the pace, movement and passing fluency of the Gunners, but Chelsea could not get anything going the other way either, with Diego Costa cutting an increasingly frustrating figure up front and finally picking up a yellow card when his anger boiled over.

Another way Arsenal blew the Blues away was by giving the Emirates crowd a huge lift after some not so good matches at home this season. The manner of our win, with Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil, Alex Iwobi, Theo Walcott, Santi Cazorla and the full backs causing havoc and creating chance after chance, was just what the doctor ordered for the Arsenal fans who had been left unconvinced and concerned by the early stages of the new season. Now when Basel come to north London for the Champions League clash on Wednesday the ground will be buzzing and full of positivity.

Another way the Gunners banished the blues today was to end that tiresome run of EPL games without a win over Chelsea. Not only was that record ended today though, but I think that our reputation of being big match chokers that we have been fixing over the last two years is now gone completely.

Today’s win should also boost the confidence and belief in the Arsenal squad that they are good enough to compete and win, so is it bye bye to the blues and hello to a red and white future?
